Dawn Patrol up Neffs. At 5:43 am, it was hard to wake up. I've been dragging lately. I wanted to stay in bed, and would have stayed in bed had I not known that my partner was waiting at the trailhead. I got dressed, drove 10 minutes to the trailhead and drank a slushy Coke. The approach into Neffs made me question whether it was worth it, but as we started to skin up into the aspens and pines, and as we topped out on a ridge, I was glad I made the effort. Plus, I got to ski a new line. Next time I'm laying in bed I'll remind myself that it's always worth it.
